It is a natural phenomenon for people of similar interests to gather together. The result may be small groups with one or two people or very large groups with several thousand people coming together. RVers gather, too, in large and small groups.

Small groups are common with two or three RVs traveling together. People get together as long-time friends or for the convenience of traveling together. After all, you can help each other in times of need, share some of the effort of planning, and even borrow a cup of sugar occasionally. No, you don’t have to eat together every night.

One summer, we traveled with friends to Montreal, Quebec and then eastward to New Brunswick. While in Quebec, the primary language was French. One of our friends was born and raised in Montreal, obviously spoke fluent French, and knew her way around. Her language and knowledge of the area made our trip absolutely wonderful—much more so than if we had tackled it on our own.

The large groups are more organized. There are three types of—mostly organized—larger gatherings for RVers: RV Tours and Caravans, RV Shows, and RV Rallies. All three are great, you will have fun, and meet other RVers—again, typically, all with similar interests.
