Lithium Ion Batteries—My Experience
This information covers the five-year process of me making a decision to try some current battery technology (lithium ion), why I made that decision, and my real daily experience with those batteries. I made an agreement with Lithionics Battery/RxEnergy in Clearwater, Florida to field test two of their lithium ion batteries (one chassis battery and one coach battery) in my RV. My secondary role was to write this blog about those batteries.
My requirement was that I be completely honest about the batteries. Good, bad, or ugly, I would write what really happened. Their requirement was that I return to Clearwater each year so they could "bench test" the batteries. When I return, they remove the two lithium ion batteries from my RV, replace them with two temporary batteries to use since I am boondocking in their parking lot, and test my existing batteries collecting a variety of data—some of which I put into this write-up.
How to Read This Section
This original section was written like a magazine article. However, when I had the website totally redesigned early in 2015, the "article" was transformed (sectioned) into a type of "blog." So, to read this and maintain your sanity, start at the bottom and read it "backwards." Sorry, but that's the way it is until I get it changed.
Remember...start at the bottom and read from the bottom up.
